Effective Marketing of the TBhost.com Affiliate Program.

Last fall we launched a series of reseller hosting plans. These plans allow our customers to start their own web hosting companies in a completely private label environment. The other set of customers that purchases these plans are web designers that host multiple customer's sites under one main control panel, or people setting up small networks of related sites. Currently these are our biggest selling hosting product, averaging $60 / month per sale. They are outselling all of our other hosting products combined. The problem is that none of these sales are affiliate driven. Our other hosting product sales are approximately 60% affiliate driven, while we have only a handful of our bulk reseller sales that have come from our affiliates. We pay the same 20% lifetime recurring commissions on the reseller plans which means that the 1st tier commission on our average $60 sale would be $12 / month for the life of the customer, while the 2nd tier commission would be $3 / month. The demand for reseller hosting is very brisk. Overture showed 22,254 searches for the keywords "reseller hosting" in February 2003. While more specific searches were not far behind "reseller web hosting" 10,963, and "web hosting reseller program" had 4,562 searches. There are currently a lot of keyword rich domain names which contain the most popular phrases, and the current market for bulk reseller hosting is not nearly as crowded as the market for budget or shared hosting. This clearly indicates an opportunity for savvy affiliate marketers.
